BMW 645Ci Coupe
We first learnt about the new 6 series back in July 2003. But at this years Frankfurt Motor Show the new BMW 645Ci Coupe shared the limelight alongside the X3. BMW's marketing release says it delivers power and performance within an exhilerating, contemporary design.
The new BMW 645Ci Coupe is the first Coupe to proudy display the legendary 6 Series BMW badge since the year 1989. It also carries on the long-standing heritage of its predecessor. However, this new model catapults the BMW 6 Series to a brand-ne level offering an array of mouth-watering things such a:

Contemporary Automotive Design
Introducing ultra-modern BMW enginneering design, the new 6 Series is truly a beautiful and luxuriess Coupe which should take the marketplace by storm. The car is 4,820 mm (189.8") in length, 1,855 mm (73.0") in width, and 1,373 mm (54.1") in overall hight. It portrays a power dome on the front bonnet, a low roof line, and contoured style front and vehicle side panels, giving it a ultra-dynamic and very elegant appearance.
FLOWING exterior lines are further reflected in the coupes cabin interior. Driving Dynamics Control
The BMW 645Ci Coupe powerful engine is complemented with a choice of three individual six-speed gearboxes, which transmit effortless power to the rear wheels in usual BMW style. In addition, a manual six-speed transmission comes as standard, and a six-speed automatic with Steptronic is available as an option. For a driver who likes the feel of Formula 1 shifting, there's also a "Sequential Manual Gearbox" (SMG) with optional steering wheel paddles and precise gearshift lever.
Driving Dynamics Control (DDC) is very similar to the "sport function" on the BMW M3 and M5 cars. Its operation is through a 'Sport' button located on the centre console. DDC increases throttle reaction for a more dynamic acceleration, thus producing a very direct feel from the power-assisted steering. When the BMW 645Ci Coupe is fitted with SMG or the "Steptronic automatic", DDC will also shift the gears at much higher revs, changing the ratios in speed lightning time of just 150 milliseconds.
Advanced Technology & Lightweight Materials
The overall weight of the BMW 645Ci Coupe is only 1,600 kg (3,528 lbs). The new BMW 645Ci Coupe is manufactured with a unique combination of high grade aluminium, steel and natural and synthetic materials,which makes a sizable contribution to high performance driving, and with the additional benefit of improved running costs and exceptioanl fuel economy for a car in its class.
The hood (bonnet), doors and the whole front-end body structure are made of high grade aluminium. The front wings are constructed from modern thermoplastic, while the trunk (boot) lid is manufactured from a sheet moulding compound known as SMC.
Suspension & Chassis

Plus, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) provides a driver with a standard 'safety net' that constantly maintains the car and keeps it heading in the intended direction.
Dynamic Drive and Active Steering is available on the BMW 645Ci Coupe as an option, and further enhances a greater driving experience. This in turn, practically eliminates body roll in tight bends. Dynamic Drive uses a step motor to counter forces on the anti-roll bars, and it further improves overall ride comfort especially while cornering hard.
Active Steering also uses a step motor to vary "steering ratio" according to the speed of the car. At lower speeds agility is greatly enhanced, with much less steering wheel input required providing a better turning angle. This in turn makes the car much easier to manoeuvre in tight situations where drivers most need additional assistance. This really is the case with town driving or parking in tight spots. As the cars speed increases the 645Ci steering becomes more indirect and firm which enhances greater stability, ride and comfort. This then ensures a much smoother ride and more precise handling.
Traditionally vehicle tyre punctures means facing the prospect of changing a wheel or it leaves a stressed driver stranded and waiting for roadside assistance. This gives greatly visibilty and illuminates much more of the road ahead. This feature allows a driver quicker and earlier recognition of any dangerous obstacles or human pedestrians who otherwise may not have been clearly visible to the driver.
Introducing Aircraft Technology
The BMW 645Ci Coupe now incorporates unnique aircraft technology in its design and features, For instance, the BMW 645Ci Coupe debuts "Head-up Display" (HUD) which projects a host of salient vehicle details directly onto the cars windscreen. This includes such things like navigation directions, speed and Active Cruise Control display.
